Madhavi told that she had received an SMS on her mobile on January 21, in which it was written that her HDFC account was about to be closed as PAN card was not attached to it. If you want to continue the services of the bank, then attach the PAN card to the account soon. A link was also given in the message, on which the woman clicked and went to the page and entered all the information and OTP that was asked there.

As soon as he entered on the OTP page, the hackers stole Rs 1 lakh from his account. After this, Madhavi Dutta called the cyber helpline 1930 several times but the call did not get connected. Then he filed his complaint on the cyber portal as well as lodged an FIRB under section 419 and 420 of IPC against unknown.
